Common Shelduck Male & Female Pair

UPDATED: October 15, 2026 - SOLD OUT

Spring 2026 Hatch - This listing is for one Common Shelduck male and female pair.  We have 2 pairs available.    Pinioned and DNA tested.   They are fully feathered and on a fenced section of our pond, so they can be put on your pond or water source right away.

Pickup at our farm in Aspers, PA 17304.  We do not ship live birds at this time.

Our Common Shelducks are pinioned and can not fly.  They are ground nesters and prefer ground shelduck tunnel style nest boxes.  We use large rocks, stumps and even potted herbs and veggies (kale, swiss chard, etc) and move them around to stimulate them and give them variety.   They should have access to water (a small pond with fresh moving water, a kiddie style pool or similar).  The water should be fresh and if using a kiddie pool, complete water changes should be done frequently.  They can also live on large farm ponds since they are pinioned and cannot fly.

We feed our Common Shelducks a mixture of Kalmbach Duck & Goose pellets, Mazuri Waterfowl Maintenance (or Mazuri Waterfowl Breeder during breeding season) and Wild Bird Seed mix.   They enjoy freeze dried meal worms as a treat.

ALL WATERFOWL ARE SOLD FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY - MOONLIGHT VALLEY FARM, LLC DOES NOT MONITOR EACH CUSTOMERS USE ONCE THE BIRDS LEAVE OUR PROPERTY.
